Two-thirds, 230 million of the US population, by faith believes in Jesus Christ. The remaining one-third does not by faith believe in Jesus Christ. This is whether due to faith in another religion or holding no faith at all. This means there is a lot of work left to do by the Christian church to help bring people to Jesus Christ. Here are the stats of the 230 million believers in the US. As of July 28, 2026, the US Census Bureau's population clock estimates the world population is 8,202,708,733. The United States has an estimated population of 342,704,721 people, or 4% of the world's population. The United States is the 3rd most populous country in the world after India and China. Using rounding, approximately 230 million Americans (67% of the 343 million) are followers of Jesus Christ.
